Are organic herbs superior to non-organic ones?
Are organic herbs superior to non-organic ones? Is it safer or healthier? You’ll find out the answer today.
What exactly are organic herbs?
The term “organic” refers to a growing process that avoids the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides. The emphasis of organic growing methods is on using natural processes and inputs to care for plants. In the context of herb cultivation, organic weed is cultivated using nutrient supplies created by living creatures rather than in a lab. There are no non-organic insecticides utilised, and mineral nutrients are not utilised.
Organic nutrient sources such as compost, manure, and bone meal are used instead to deliver nutrients to plants. Organic farming attempts to establish a healthy, sustainable, and biodiverse ecosystem that promotes plant growth and development without the use of synthetic fertilisers.
- No synthetic nutrients
- Try to utilise nutrients made by living things
- Only use mineral sources of nutrients when necessary
- No nutrients created in a lab
- Organic pesticides only
- No forbidden substances
Herbs grown organically receive nutrients directly from the rich soil.
Is organic weed safer?
“Organic” weed, like food, should never have been subjected to certain chemicals. So, if herbs are labelled as organic, you may be confident that it is free of dangerous chemicals. Organic weed, on the other hand, is not fundamentally different from weed grown with nutrients from minerals if everything else is the same.
- “Organic” weed has several advantages (for example, “organic” weed should never have been sprayed with hazardous pesticides).
- However, if the main difference between organic and non-organic weed is the source of nutrients, organic weed is not inherently safer.
There is no known variation in the safety of buds if the only difference during growth is organic vs synthetic fertilisers. However, there are some distinctions. Weed plants produced organically grow slightly slower than plants planted with chemical nutrients, as demonstrated below. These plants were grown in identical conditions, with the exception that the larger plant received synthetic nutrients in the soil. The plant that received synthetic fertilisers grew substantially larger and produced far higher yields.
But on the other hand, when set up right, organic weed is easier to grow. Organically grown weed also may have a stronger and more complex smell than weed growth with synthetic nutrients.
Is it better to consume organic herbs?
Genetics/strain, grow light type, growing environment, and overall plant health all have a greater impact on the ultimate quality of buds than whether they were produced with organic or non-organic fertilisers. While organic herbs may have some advantages, it is not necessarily preferable to consume just because it is organic.
If you’re a new grower, you probably don’t need to be concerned with whether or not the weed you’re cultivating is completely organic. The best results will come from focusing on creating a healthy growing environment with high-quality strains. However, we encourage trying with various growing strategies to see what works best for you. The simple method for growing organic herbs at home (“Just add water” soil).
To grow organic weed with no effort, use organic super soil.
With this type of soil, you give your plants clean plain water and basically just wait for harvest time.
